I am sure I mentioned that I wanted to create ‘Buy Checklists’ that I could use to help me make a final Decision whether to Buy a Stock or not and having thought about it I have come to the conclusion it is not an easy thing to do !!
I have sort of already done the opposite of this - a ‘Negative’ if you like in a photographic sense - in the form of the ‘WheelieBin’ and if you look at the Website page with the WheelieBin on it you will find a good Checklist of what constitutes a Stock that is best avoided.
On the basis it was hard, I figured it would be wise to start with a Buy Checklist for my Income Portfolio as this might be a little easier and then I can move on to creating one for my ‘Normal’ Portfolio - the WD40. I think there will be some points that are common to both Checklists so hopefully I have broken the task down into 2 progressive steps that should make it a bit easier to produce something of use with not too much difficulty.
My thinking is that when I produce a ‘Buy Rationale’ Blog for a Stock I will include this Checklist at the end and complete it as a Final Check. General Points for the Checklists
The Questions
Final Questions What areas does it fail Test on and why? Does this Stock deserve a place in the WD Income Portfolio? Y/N
