A couple of nights ago I managed to find just under an hour to watch/listen to the latest Somero Enterprises SOM Video from the superb piworld.co.uk and I found it extremely useful at improving my understanding of SOM, which I hold a Position in, and it gave some clarity on the Trading situation which has been causing much concern since their last Trading Update. I have made a few pertinent (I hope) observations below, but you can catch the Video here:
http://www.piworld.co.uk/2017/06/14/somero-som-invester-presentation-june-2017/ You can also find it on Youtube if you use Google Search (other Search Engines are available but they are cr*p).
In the middle it goes into the Finance spiel and that is a bit yawn inducing - but stick with it because there is a Question and Answer session at the end and that is well worth listening to.
The Key Points I picked up are as follows:
I think that pretty much covers it. Make sure you listen/watch to the Video - it is just under an hour and well worth it - especially cos I probably forgot some important bits. Cheers, WD.

I am only the second investor to visit Somero's European HQ at Chesterfield. Nick & Rick demonstrated a unit. Impressive. Also impressed by the trade in facility - an old machine was there awaiting despatch to the USA to be refurbished, updfated & sold on at entry prices to China or India.

Before describing our reasoning it’s sensible to say that between my wife and myself we have over 40 years of experience in concrete production, concrete placing, concrete standards and the wider construction industry, myself as a Chartered Civil Engineer and my wife as a materials technologist. We were involved in exactly the same things as shown in the SOM videos 25 years ago (plus many others). We haven’t seen anything new here and, given that SOM started in 1986, that’s perhaps not surprising.
